Solar Panels
Up to $5,000 back on a solar installation. In my opinion, solar gets a bad rap for efficiency — but no moving parts, widely available, and installed properly it'll last you 20 or more years. That rebate helps make the numbers work.
Is your electrical panel struggling to keep up with modern demands? From frequent breaker trips to outdated fuse boxes, we'll assess your system and upgrade your panel to safely power today's homes, EV chargers, heat pumps, smart devices, and all.
If you're pairing a panel upgrade with a heat pump conversion, the Province of BC may cover up to $5,000 of the electrical work through the CleanBC Better Homes Energy Savings Program.
Get Your Free QuoteThere's real money available right now for homeowners doing electrical upgrades in BC. CleanBC and BC Hydro have rebate programs that can take a serious chunk off the cost of things like heat pumps, EV chargers, solar panels, and panel upgrades.
I'm Justin, master electrician and owner of Taurus Electric here in Chilliwack. We help homeowners across the Fraser Valley get these upgrades done right and done in a way that actually qualifies for the rebates.
That second part matters more than most people think.
If you're converting from oil, propane, or natural gas heating to an electric heat pump, the CleanBC Better Homes Energy Savings Program can cover a significant portion of your electrical service upgrade — applied directly to your invoice by a registered contractor.

Pair your solar system with a battery and you can unlock an additional $5,000 rebate. Energy independence is cool. Not relying on anyone else for your power is genuinely worth something.
Switching from electric baseboard or fossil fuel heating? You could see up to $4,000 back on a whole home heat pump system. The electrical side of a heat pump install is something we handle a lot — it's not always a small job.
Swap out an old electric tank for a heat pump water heater and there's a $1,000 rebate sitting there. Straightforward upgrade. Good value.
Up to $350 for a Level 2 EV charger installation at a single family home. It's not a huge rebate on its own, but it offsets a real cost. And the installation has to be done right to qualify.
The rebate doesn't just happen because you bought the right equipment. There's a list of requirements. Miss one of those and your rebate gets reduced or denied. We've seen it happen. It's very important that whoever does the electrical work on your project understands the rebate criteria — not just the electrical code.
Some of these catch people off guard
A lot of rebate-eligible upgrades can't happen until the electrical is sorted out first.
Heat pumps, EV chargers, solar systems, they all pull load. If your existing panel can't handle it safely, we upgrade it first. That's not an upsell. That's just how it works.
A Level 2 charger needs a dedicated circuit, a proper load calculation, and a permit. The charger has to be CSA-approved and sold in Canada. And the person installing it has to be certified. That's us.
Switching to a heat pump usually means electrical modifications. The HVAC company handles the equipment, we handle what it takes to actually power it.
Solar systems need proper electrical integration. Panel configuration, safety disconnects, everything tied into the grid or battery system correctly. That's the part we handle.
Planning ahead is the difference between getting the full rebate and finding out after the fact that you missed something.
Rebate numbers and program rules change. Funding runs out. Eligibility criteria get updated.
